Teacher Development Phases of the Year
This MoDUle PROVIDES:
A starting point for the “what” of teacher development: what skills should we be developing with teachers at each point throughout the year? What should our lens be when we jump into a virtual classroom as a coach/leader?

Four Key Questions for Remote Learning
Four big picture questions inform our lens for what is happening in virtual classrooms:
Developing Teacher Knowledge and Skill Through Sequential Phases
Schools can address these questions by developing teacher knowledge and skill systematically, through sequential phases of the year. Some teachers may move more quickly through these phases, and all teachers can be supported with individualized goals and differentiated coaching; but the phases of the year give leadership teams and coaches a starting point for defining teacher development needs.
You can see an overview of the teacher development phases, including focus area and specific teacher skills to support them here.
A walkthrough tool for each phase may help leaders define a vision for teaching and support teachers in reaching that vision. An ready-to-use example of a walkthrough tool for the first few phases is linked here and is a living document being added to for the additional phases of the year.
